Research Description
Dr. Srinivas Akella’s research interests are in robotics, with a focus on motion and manipulation planning. His recent work has focused on coordinating multiple UAVs (i.e., drones) for coverage and formation tasks. He enjoys developing geometric and optimization algorithms for robotics and automation, biotechnology, and data analytics. He has made contributions to multiple robot coordination, digital microfluidic systems, and manufacturing automation. He has received the NSF CAREER award, and his research has been supported by NSF, DOD, DARPA, NCDOT, and industry.
